Job or Vacancy Description:
Application on prescribed format are invited for the following posts in the University  :
Programme Coordinator : 06 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 37400-67000 Grade pay : Rs. 9000/-
Subject Matter Specialist : 22 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 15600-39100 Grade pay : Rs. 5400/-
Programme Assistant : 17 posts, Pay Scale : Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
Application Fee : Rs.500/- (Rs.250/­ for ST&SC categories) in shape of Bank Draft of any nationalized bank drawn in favour of “Registrar, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur” payable at Raipur within due date.
How to Apply : Application in the prescribed format should be send to Registrar, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur – 492012 (Chhattisgarh)  on or before 31/08/2013 through Speed Post/ Registered Post.
General Instructions:
01. Reservation for ST/SC/OBC candidates Shall be available as per the Chhattisgarh Lok Seva (Anusuchit Jatiyon, Anusuchit Jan Jatiyon Aur Anya Pichhade Vargon ke Liye Arakshan) Rules, 1998 as modified time to time. The applicant under Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and other Backward Class category, should be a bonafide resident of Chhattisgarh and should be a member of Schedule caste/Schedule tribe
02. The Vishwavidyalaya reserves the right to increase/decrease or not to fill up any of the post, to fix criteria for calling the candidates for interview and/or not to call any of the applicants on account of sufficient reasons for interview. No appeal will be accepted/ entertained in this matter and Vishwavidyalaya’s decision will be final.
03. 30% reservation will be available for female applicant in each category as per rules.
04. 6% reservation will be available for Physically Handicapped (disabled) applicants as per rule.
05. The selected candidates shall be governed by the Vishwavidyalaya rules and service conditions.
06. Applicants must have achieved the requisite qualifications and experience on or before 31.08.2013.
07. Applications not accompanied with copies of certificates, degrees, mark sheets/transcripts in support of academic qualifications and experience shall be rejected.
08. Applications not accompanied with application fees shall be rejected. Application fee once paid shall not be refunded in any case.

Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, is an autonomous, nonprofit, research and educational organization working for the up-liftment of farmer’s livelihood of Chhattisgarh. Education, Research and Extension are the major activities coordinated through agriculture and agricultural engineering faculties and Directorates of instruction, research and extension. Grant in aid is received from ICAR, State Government and international agencies. Chhattisgarh, the newly emerged State of India, popularly known as “Rice Bowl” of the country due to rich rice diversity exist in the state. Dr. R.H. Richaria and researchers of the university have collected a number of rice germplasm accessions and made the university rich in conservation of rice genetic resources. Currently the available more than twenty three thousand rice germplasm have some unique collections too; some of those also have medicinal value also. Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur was established on 20 th January 1987 after bifurcating from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur . From that time to this date, the University has been expanded several fold. In the British regime one Agricultural Research Station was established in 1903 known as “Labhandi Farm” at Raipur . This Labhandi Farm had grown slowly and today it has become the campus of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur . In Between, Rice Research Station (RRS) was established in mid sixties. Later in 1974 Madhya Pradesh Rice Research Institute (MPRRI) was established under the able leadership of great rice scientist Dr. R.H. Richharia. The College of Agriculture was established in 1961 under the government of Madhya Pradesh and it was shifted to the present campus in 1964. After the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur in 1964 as a State Agricultural University (SAU) under the land-grant pattern of USA , the College of Agriculture became a constituent college of Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya , Jabalpur , Madhya Pradesh. In 1979 National Agricultural Research Project (NARP) came into existence with the financial support of World Bank.
