IBPS Clerk Examination 2013 ( OPEN SOON ON 19/8/2013)
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an institution which
has been entrusted with the huge responsibility of selecting suitable
candidates for the clerical and PO posts which arise in the various
nationalized banking institutions which accept the recruitment platform
provided by the IBPS. Till the last year, there were a total of 19
government owned banks which were using IBPS CWE as a platform to find
out the most suitable candidates who could fill in the vacancies
related to the clerical or PO posts in the banks. Also in this year
onwards, there would be 19 nationalized banks which would follow the
platform provided by the IBPS. Due to the reason that the validity of
score cards issued on the basis of the CWE held last year are about to
end, IBPS has notified about the CWE to be conducted again this year
tentatively in the month of December.
Like the previous year (2012), IBPS is going to conduct the CWE (Common
Written Exam) this year as well for the selection of suitable
candidates for the post of and
clerical posts in
nationalized banks which follow the platform provided by the IBPS. The
requirement to conduct the Common Written Examination is considered to
be a very efficient prerequisite for the selection of the suitable
candidates to the clerical posts in the government sector banks. A
difference in the whole procedure has been indicated by the IBPS from
this year. The
CWE test will not be following the pattern of an OMR answer sheet for the questions asked in the examination.
There would be an online test
that would be conducted for the purpose of the CWE and the candidates
can easily go through the test very conveniently by the online mode.
This change has been brought into effect because of the high number of
candidates who turn up for the CWE conducted by the IBPS.
Appearing in the CWE is a mandatory step to follow if any candidate
wants to get into a clerical post or equivalent in any of the
19 nationalized banks
which follow the platform provided by the IBPS. The candidates will be
required to clear the CWE with the qualifying marks as the minimum in
order to get the hopes up for the selection decision. The candidates
who qualify the CWE Clerk – 3 will have to attend a
Common Interview
as the next step of the selection process. This is also a new
procedure that has been included in the recruitment of the candidates
for these 19 banks. The candidates who perform good enough in both these
rounds would be selected on the basis of their order of preference of
banks and their marks.
IBPS Clerk Exam Eligibility Criteria
The minimum and maximum age limits defined by the IBPS for the
candidates is 20 years and 28 years respectively. Upper age limit
relaxations will be given to reservation category candidates as per
rules of the government.
The candidates need to have the minimum educational qualification,
which is a graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized
college or university. The candidates must also possess knowledge of
computer operations and should have a certification for the same or
they should have it as a subject in their schooling records.
Selection Procedure & Online Registration
The topics that would be covered under the objective type online CWE
would be: Reasoning, English, Numerical Ability, General Awareness
(Banking Industry oriented) and Computer Knowledge. This whole online
test would be for a total of 200 marks and would have 200 questions and
the duration would be 2 hours. The qualifying candidates will be
called for Common Interviews for final selection decision.
